Is Sarah Palin
qualified to be president?

Equally troubling to some was this reported by Joel Skousen's 'World
Affairs Brief', a highly intelligent and accurate source:
"But she has also shown a tendency to make unwise alliances and compromises.
No one nowadays can get elected to high public office without these
compromises (Ron Paul is the rare exception). Most notable is her relationship
with Sen. Ted Stevens, the most corrupt of the old line Alaska politicians.
"Matthew Mosk reports that "Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin began building clout
in her state's political circles in part by serving as a director of
an independent political group organized by the now embattled Alaska
Sen. Ted Stevens. Palin's name is listed on 2003 incorporation papers
of the 'Ted Stevens Excellence in Public Service, Inc.,' a 527 group
that could raise unlimited funds from corporate donors. The group was
designed to serve as a political boot camp for Republican women in the
state. She served as one of three directors until June 2005, when her
name was replaced on state filings.
"Palin's relationship with Alaska's senior senator may be one of the more complicated
aspects of her new position as Sen. John McCain's running mate; Stevens
was indicted in July 2008 on seven counts of corruption. Palin, an anti-corruption
crusader in Alaska, had called on Stevens to be open about the issues
behind the investigation. But she also held a joint news conference
with him in July, before he was indicted, to make clear she had not
abandoned him politically."
As mayor of Wasilla, Palin didn't serve without controversy and there was
talk of recalling her. The city council decided to take a more 'conciliatory
stand.' She has rooted out corruption and that is admirable. Palin speaks
of "shaking up Washington," but she's either naive or really
believes that she and a corrupt individual like McCain can bring any
change to Washington with virtually the same Congress.
How could Sarah Palin accept a slot on a political ticket with a man who
fought so hard to give illegal aliens amnesty and reward them for making
killing fields out of our highways and in America's cities and towns?
McCain's endorsement of lawlessness and the invasion of our country
by tens of millions of illegals sneaking across the border cannot be
denied. The blood of the victims of illegal aliens drips from the hands
of Juan McCain (and Ted Kennedy), yet, Palin lauds this wretched, craven
man as a great American hero who is going to "shake up Washington."
What is her real position on rewarding criminals who violate our laws?
Feminizing Congress has been a disaster for this country:
Throw
out all female members of Congress!
Pelosi & her Brassiere Brigade
Now, Pat Boone sees a White House full of kids!
Great crooner in his time, but this syrupy drivel is too much: "I believe
women of every stripe and persuasion have seen one of their own –
an exceptional one – rise to an unprecedented level and prove
that a mother of five can juggle her duties as wife, mother, mayor,
governor – and even vice president . And stay beautiful and engaging
all the while...Between the McCains and Palins, there are 12 (and soon
to be 13) children. I see a ticket – and an administration –
that looks and feels like a big American family, with a wise, hardworking
and experienced dad, and an able, energetic and cheery mom. Kids running
in and out of the Oval Office, and that wonderful old feeling that every
problem can be solved if we work together and believe in each other."
What do people think this presidential race is about? Silly mantras like,
"breaking glass ceilings"? The presidency isn't about "women's
issues" or "breaking glass ceilings." Do people really
understand how dire our situation is? All this back and forth between
feminist organizations and conservative women's organizations is great
for the sake of discussion, but this isn't some race to see how fast
a female can be put in the White House. Oh, boy, whoopie! We're finally
liberated! A woman in the White House! Then what?
What we've seen with the subprime meltdown and what's coming early next year
is going to blow the socks off this country. The numbers don't lie.
One one day our enemies will quit buying our debt or simply own us lock,
stock and barrel. Pat Boone might want to see lots of little children
in the White House, but he's overlooking the constitutional role of
a U.S. president and vice president. It isn't about juggling children
and their schedules, or full time commitment to a special needs baby,
it's about dealing with a nation on the brink of ruin. It's about dealing
with a debt load in excess of $50 TRILLION dollars the treasury doesn't
have and neither Obama, McCain, Biden or Palin have the knowledge or
experience to deal with this reality.

The neocons are on the warpath. I wish every American would take the time
to read a superb book,
Churchill,
Hitler and the Unnecessary War:
How Britain Lost Its Empire and
the West Lost the World, by Patrick J. Buchanan. It is a horrifying
and fully documented (with 1300 footnotes) account of past wars and
how easily maniacs (in their own words) took the world into Hell. As
Buchanan so correctly points out at the end of the book:
"We are approaching what Walter Lippmann called "foreign policy bankruptcy."
Our strategic assets, armaments, and allies cannot cover our strategic
liabilities, our commitments to go to war on behalf of scores of nations
from Central and South America to the Baltic and the Balkans, to the
Middle East, the Gulf, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Australia,
and Taiwan. Like the British before us, America has reached imperial
overstretch. Either we double or treble our air, sea and land forces,
or we start shredding commitments, or we are headed inexorably for an
American Dienbienphu. For if the U.S. Army and Marine Corps are stretched
to the limit by the insurgencies in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, how
can we police the rest of the planet?
"We cannot. If two or three of the IOUs we have handed out are called in,
the bankruptcy of U.S. foreign policy will be exposed to the world."
This is exactly what we're facing with war mongers like McCain and the Middle
East - just for starters. Sarah Palin shares McCain's stand on these
immoral, grotesque invasions. These "wars of liberation."
She stands with his platform. The Bush presidency has been run by Dick
Cheney and McCain's would be run by the same traitors behind the curtain.
If you think Comrade Obama and his Democrats, who've had power for almost
two years and done nothing, are going to stop the craziness, you are
in denial. This is damn serious business we're talking about here, not
some social experiment.
In the end, you can agree or disagree. Your vote is your own. However,
I hope Americans will really study what's staring us in the face as
they evaluate these candidates. Dozens of people have asked me via email
who can they vote for? Voting for the lesser of two evils (Obama or
McCain) will not save America. You can write
in Ron Paul, you can vote for Chuck
Baldwin on the Constitution Party ticket, Bob
Barr on the Libertarian ticket or sit out the election. Follow your
conscience. For part one click below.
