Gov. Schwarzenegger Aids the Lavender Lobby

ARTICLE SYNOPSIS:
In a pair of articles, the California Daily Catholic examines the concerted effort by the Log Cabin Club, a Republican homosexual activist group, to take over the leadership of the Republican Party in the Golden State. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger and his wife, Maria Shriver, (both liberal, pro-choice, pro-gay Catholics) are immensely aiding this objective.

COMMENTARY:
The effort by homosexual militants to infiltrate and influence the Republican Party has been underway for several decades. Not only in California, but in every state. This writer recalls talking to young Republican activists in Los Angeles 25 years ago who were quitting their California Republican Party staff jobs back then because the Log Cabin homosexuals had already gotten such a lock-hold on the office and were making it very uncomfortable for "straights" to work there.
It is no secret that the top levels of the GOP have long been dominated by internationalist corporate elites who are sympathetic to this trend. These same liberal-left elites, known variously as "Rockefeller Republicans," "limousine liberals," "Big Tent Republicans," and RINOs (Republican In Name Only), are also fundamentally hostile to the Conservative and Christian bases — and the great "Middle America" — that the Republican Party claims to represent. They have assiduously worked with the liberal-left media to undermine and marginalize genuine Conservatives within the GOP and to push candidates "who can win," who are substantively indistinguishable from the Democrats they are running against.
GOP leaders know they need only say "God bless America" and point to the openly pro-abortion, pro-homosexual Democrats, and virtually all of the "social conservatives" will fall in line behind the Republican banner, even if it means electing another RINO. That's what happened in California with the election (and re-election) of Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The California Daily Catholic reported on February 19 on several key appointments of Gov. Schwarzenegger and First Lady Shriver:
Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has been very homosexual-friendly, signing about a dozen bills promoted by the homosexual lobby. Schwarzenegger has also made numerous appointments of gays, lesbians and transgenders to important state positions, including the courts. Schwarzenegger's chief of staff, Susan Kennedy, was the former executive director of the California Abortion Rights Action League, and is a high-profile lesbian whose partner is Vicki Marti, a women's chemical dependency therapist. Last year Kennedy's state salary was $131,000, plus $92,500 in salary and a $100,000 bonus from campaign funds – for a total of $323,500....
Gov. Schwarzenegger's personal assistant, Clay Russell, whom the governor addresses by the pet name "Clayrini," also has a "partner-in-life." Last year, "Clayrini" received about $85,000 from taxpayers, plus a $28,000 salary and a $48,000 bonus from campaign funds, all totaling about $161,000.
In a companion article, the California Daily Catholic reported:
The increasing number of open homosexual activists was notable at the California Republican Party 2007 Spring Convention, held Feb. 9 to 11 in Sacramento, and their willingness to answer the party's call for candidates in no-win districts is one way they plan to rise to positions of influence within the party....
Because of California' extremely gerrymandered electoral districts, the minority Republican Party finds it difficult to recruit candidates in 48 of the 80 Assembly districts, 25 of the 40 State Senate districts, and 33 of the 53 Congressional districts, where it is practically impossible for a Republican candidate to win....
The Republican Party tries to recruit a candidate to run in every district, but as an article in the Feb. 17, 2004 issue of the San Francisco Chronicle pointed out, it is homosexuals who have disproportionately answered the party's call in the "no-win" districts. Why? Because, even though they may not win the general election, candidates who win these often uncontested primaries are guaranteed one or more seats, votes, and influence on the California Republican Party Central Committee, which picks leaders and makes rules and policy for the state party....
"Gay rights ultimately will be won through the Republican Party because the only way we're going to win is when middle America gets it, and middle America is Republican," Jeffrey Bissiri, state chairman of the Log Cabin Club and coordinator of the candidate recruitment drive, told the Chronicle.
