“Must Freedom Always Be Preserved By the Shedding of Blood?”

Thursday, June 25, 2009

By Ron Ewart

America was born out of a bloody revolution, a revolution created by the rising tyranny of a King. Much blood was spilled in that painful birth of freedom. The second American revolution, the unCivil War, was born out of a schism between states rights and federal power, over the issue of slavery. Much blood was spilled in that war to “test whether our nation, or any nation, conceived in liberty, can long endure.” Even today, almost 150 years later, the scars left over from that war simmers as a constant undercurrent of anger and resentment in some parts of the nation.

Now as free Americans are pushed, shoved, cajoled and coerced towards the precipice of enslavement by an out-of-control government, will much blood have to be spilled to once again reclaim our freedom? The likelihood of a third American revolution looms in our uncertain future. The "pot" is coming to an uncomfortable boil and the smell of violence and revolution is in the air. If you doubt this, your sight and hearing are seriously impaired.

The attack on our freedoms by rapidly increasing government tyranny, is unprecedented in all of American history, since prior to 1776. Government is using emergencies of their own manufacture, as rationale for dismantling our institutions of liberty in order to protect our security, or level the playing field according to their distorted concept of equality … socialism by any other name.

The insults to our intellect occur in rapid succession, as government barrages Americans with fear, intimidation, propaganda, hype, distortions and outright lies to justify their actions. This practice of fear, propaganda and coercion by government was brought to new levels of deceit in much of the 20th Century and has increased at an alarming rate in the first decade of the 21st Century, perpetrated by all three branches of government. Starting with the creation of the Federal Reserve and the Internal Revenue Service in 1913, to World War I, the Great Depression, World War II, the Korean War, the Viet Nam war, Johnson's Great Society, the Bosnian War and finally two wars in Iraq and a continuing war in Afghanistan, each new event gave government another reason to increase their stranglehold on the American people and each time they increased their power with a vengeance. In the process, government has brought lying and deception to a new art form to facilitate their agenda.

Now with an economic meltdown that threatens our financial security, if not our very sovereignty, the cause of which lays directly at the hands of government tweaking and outright government intervention, draconian actions are being taken by government with absolutely no constitutional authority whatsoever, to “fix” the very problems they themselves caused.

Every day brings a new assault on our liberties. The litany of unconstitutional legislation clogs the pages of an ever-expanding Federal Register. New legislation, coming out of congress at a rate never seen before, threatens to strip away any vestige of our Constitutional Republic, with the sole aim to convert America to an Absolute Democrat Monarchy, run by a mob of voters who salivate at the thought of a new government entitlement and are only too eager to vote for the fillers of the government pig trough. State and local legislatures only repeat the unconstitutional injustices of the federal government and add to the tangled web of government treachery, aided and abetted by a conspiratorial print and electronic media.

Freedom-loving Americans seem almost powerless to stop it. Even with the exponential rise of discontent by those who cherish freedom and who are forced to pay the rising cost of socialism and radical environmentalism, the injustices in Washington DC and in state capitols, county seats and city government, continue unabated.

There are very few ways to stop or inhibit this headlong rush to socialism and globalism. One way is to increase the numbers of Americans who will exercise their right of free speech in a forceful way, to let government know that what they are doing is not only unacceptable, it is treasonous. Another way is for a sufficient number of Americans (millions) to quit paying taxes and dry up the public treasury to the point that government is forced to shrink back to the constitutional limits on its power. One other way would be for those who recognize the principles of liberty to educate those who have forgotten them. That will not be an easy task in that way too many Americans, dumbed down by a federally-controlled public indoctrination system and who have their hands out for whatever government will put in those out-stretched hands, will not be easily re-trained to the ways of responsibility, self reliance and free choice … if ever.

The inescapable reality is, that if any of these peaceful means do not work, there is only one other way to reclaim our freedom and restore our Republic, that being through the deep red blood and sacrifice of patriots in an all-out civil war, or bloody revolution. To make sure that blood does not have to be spilled, we call on every man in America, whose solemn duty it is to protect their women and children from harm and to preserve freedom and liberty for all future generations, to rise up in unison, cross over the line of fear into the realm of courage and come to the aid of their country before it is too late. We have emphasized that call in a short YouTube video entitled, “Be There Man Among You?”

We ask that you tell government in no uncertain terms, NO! to:

    1. Amnesty for illegal aliens
    2. Open borders
    3. Cap and trade legislation, CO2 emission limits or increased CAFE standards for cars
    4. Very expensive wind and solar power subsidies
    5. National Health Care
    6. The Clean Water Restoration Act
    7. To any more UN treaties including the Law of the Sea and Rights of the Child Treaties
    8. Gun Control legislation or international gun control or registration treaties
    9. Food control legislation and the National Animal Index System (NAIS)
    10. Government payments for national or international abortions.
    11. Nationalization of banks and businesses, or over regulation of same
    12. Bailouts, stimulus packages or TARP funds
    13. Any more environmental regulations that violate constitutional property rights
    14. A national civilian army corps. (akin to Hitler's youth)
    15. Public funds for ACORN, or any other community organization
    16. etc. etc. etc.

If 5,000 years of civilized history is any guide, freedom is always preserved in blood, death and destruction. Hopefully, Americans at least, have grown wiser because of living under the umbrella of freedom and spilled blood will not have to be the final answer to preserve the principles of our liberty. In the end, the preservation of American freedom and sovereignty will be up to those who are committed to defending them, at whatever cost, or by whatever means.
