HR 539,
A Constitutional Solution for the Unborn
Monday, January 18, 2010
By Nancy Carr
Dear fellow Americans,
Many of us have been led to believe that abortion is “legal” but no law exists that permits abortion-- the current situation “allowing” it is the result of a court decision, not law. The judiciary does not have the power to make laws, that is a Constitutional role delegated to the legislature.
A recent bulletin I received made this point, and I agree, so I wanted to share it with you and encourage you to pass it on to your friends: “Each January, hundreds of thousands of pro-life marchers participate in the annual March for Life in Washington, but leaders of the major national pro-life organizations have largely ignored the one practical way to eliminate Roe v. Wade effects–by failing to encourage their grassroots members to demand that their representative cosponsor HR 539, to Limit Federal Courts’ Rights to Rule on Abortion.”
HR 539 is referred to as the “We, the People Act” and was introduced by Rep. Ron Paul. Please read the attached items to see the practical solution to the current problem of judicially-permitted abortion in the United States. I urge you to act on this information by contacting your representative in the House to cosponsor and support this bill.
I would appreciate hearing from you about this matter. I would like to know if you are supportive of this approach or what your thoughts are on it. If you have any questions or would like to discuss it further, please don’t hesitate to contact me by email or by phone (see below).
