Keep Big Government
Out Of My Home!

It’s bad enough that I live in New Jersey and have to pay the highest property taxes and the highest auto insurance in the nation. No wonder so many folks 55 years or older are moving out, along with thousands of small businesses (and even some big companies) to get rid of increasing taxes and fees for almost every activity and products in the marketplace.
New Jersey’s broke. The State can’t balance its budget, now some 4 billion in the red.
Not to worry! Our new socialist Governor Jon Corzine wants to put New Jersey in even deeper debt by borrowing $7 billion to replenish the Transportation Trust Fund. My children and grandchildren will have to pay off that massive debt load, which will be more than $25 billion because of the interest on the 30-year loans.
Now, our liberal-socialist state government wants to invade our homes and property by creating yet another useless bureaucracy to regulate adult communities. The last thing I want is for government controlling my new age-restricted home and property.
My new home is valued at a half-million dollars. That doesn’t mean I’m rich. I live in New Jersey. That $500,000 number is what most homes cost if you live anywhere near the Jersey Shore. The closer you move to the oceanfront, the more you pay. My house is five miles from the oceanfront. My address is Ocean, NJ.
As one 77-7ear-old shore resident put it, “This is a travesty, a boondoggle and nothing more than a chance to develop revenue and rape the senior community” in the Garden State.
We’ve become a “Garden” of taxes, fees, regulations and oppressive, unaffordable government!
Singer Billy Joel’s hit musical must’ve been written for New Jersey: “Movin’ Out!”
One State lawmaker warned that the proposed legislation will “result in greater expense” for senior citizens.
Watch out politicians! New Jersey has more than a million voting seniors – and most everyone in good health who can make it to the election polls votes.
Some opponents of the intrusive proposed law question the constitutionality of such legislation. Deborah Jacobs, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey said her group would have to “do a better job of educating legislators what a troublesome bill this is.”
Residents of adult communities already pay a monthly fee to their association. Inflation continues to drive those fees up, further hurting retirees on fixed incomes.
There is a limit to how much financial burden government can impose on both working taxpayers and retired “seasoned” citizens.
Politicians just don’t get it. They think the only purpose of government is to tax-and spend until the working class wakes up and declares a “Tax Revolt,” which is what the founders of America did in 1776. The American Revolution was a tax revolt against taxes on tea and other products imported from England. The Boston Tea Party was the birth of a new nation.
Now, some 227 years later, we have more taxes, fees and regulations than England’s King George could ever imagine.
It’s time for a second American Revolution by overthrowing our “elected” governments at the local, regional, state and federal levels.
As long as these reckless “tax and spend” socialists remain in power, the worse America will get, economically, socially and culturally.
“Out” with the liberal socialists and” in” with individuals who will represent the people, not the thieving special interests who now control our lives from the cradle to the grave.
Notably, New Jersey’s governor bought the election for some $40 million. He also paid some $60 million to buy the U.S. Senate seat of New Jersey when he first ran for public office five years ago.
Politics today is all about money and power. Those who have the money can buy power. Politicians at all levels of government spend billions of dollars getting elected every two, four or six years to public office.
This is not a way to run a Constitutional Republic. We were founded as a Republic (Rule of Law), not a corrupt political system based on “democracy” (Mob Rule).
Voters have forgotten their heritage because public schools no longer teach the history made by our founders.
President Thomas Jefferson, who wrote our nation’s Declaration of Independence, summed it up this way: “The best government is less government.”
We haven’t had less government since the 19 th Century. The socialists took over America in the 20 th Century. Will America survive the 21 st Century, or go the way of the Roman Empire, which lasted about 500 years.
