ACTION ALERT
More Merit Selection Information

Many PACleanSweepers have responded to the recent Action Alert regarding pending legislation that will propose a "merit selection" system for appellate court judges in Pennsylvania.
Some of the responses have used the John Grisham novel "The Appeal" as a reason for supporting merit selection. Although Grisham is an accomplished author and entertaining writer, we must remember that his book is a work of fiction.
Collin Levy, a senior editorial writer for the Wall Street Journal, recently wrote a column regarding the Grisham book and merit selection in the real world. PACleanSweep urges all Pennsylvanians to read this column in the interest of raising awareness of the issue.

Contact Your Legislators
PACleanSweep urges all Pennsylvanians to contact their legislators to voice their opinion regarding merit selection of judges.
Are Pennsylvania voters smart enough to elect judges? We think so. Should a panel dominated by Executive and Legislative branch appointees pick our judges instead? We think not.
