Dear Voters:
I was going to write what I think of the Superior Court after 30 years but who am I, just one lawyer. Then I thought the voters can find out how bad it all is simply by asking a lawyer. Call a neighbor, a friend, a relative who is a lawyer and ask: Should there be change in the Courts?
Ask as many lawyers as you know. They will tell you the truth when a judge is not looking or their name is not in the public. Then ask about your county judges. If the lawyer is honest he will say which are good and which are bad. But the political bosses will not name names because they want to help their friends keep their jobs.
I read in the newspaper that a politician admitted that there are good and bad judges but he did not give names. I knew then that retention is about the people vs. the politicians. Years ago I read how the politicians wanted to protect the voters' right to choose judges. Well now that the voters are using our rights the politicians want to take it away from us.
You see they never cared about the people. The courthouse is used as a gift to political friends. It is all so bad that I once heard a judge laugh that he got his job with 8,000 votes in a county with 500,000 residents.
When was the last time you voted for or against a judge? They have the job for 10 years and for 10 years they are VERY powerful. Even the president does not have a 10 year job. Now is the time to show judges that we are watching and that there are no more easy jobs. VOTE NO on all judges!!!
Your friend,
An Angry Lawyer
PS: You may have heard about a cancer-fighting program where you are asked to ask 10 friends to ask 10 friends to spread the word. Well I'm going to add more to make it 10x10x10x10. If my math is correct the total is 10,000. Remember some judges get elected with just 8,000 votes so with 10-4 we can remove the judges. Thank you and please vote on Tuesday!
