ACTION ALERT
Reid to Bring DREAM Act
to the Senate Floor
Tuesday, October 23, 2007
By John Birch Society
Take Action!
Grassroots organizations opposing illegal immigration have been abuzz over the past 12 hours as it was learned that Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) has filed a motion to bring the controversial DREAM Act to the Senate floor. A cloture vote on the DREAM Act could come as early as Wednesday morning! That leaves less than one day for our activists to pick up the phone and tell your Senators that you oppose the DREAM Act, or any other form of amnesty.
Senator Richard Durbin (D-IL) introduced the DREAM Act on October 18, as a previous attempt to pass the legislation as an amendment failed and was later pulled from the bill. The DREAM Act has currently been introduced as S. 2205.
Call your senators today and urge them to vote against S. 2205 when it comes up for a vote.
Time is of the essence! Congress is working harder than ever to pass immigration provisions that failed earlier this year. Don't let Congress bypass the will of the public by passing amnesty provisions such as the DREAM Act through a piecemeal approach.
After you are done contacting your senators, click here to use our Media Guide to contact members of the media in your area and make them aware of this new amnesty threat.
