We Need Your Help!

Lawmakers in Hartford have already started to consider legislation that will have dramatic consequences for Connecticut’s law-abiding gun owners.  The anti-gun crowd has doubled their efforts to pass some of 2006’s failed proposals and new 2007 anti-gun proposals.

 

The Judiciary and Public Safety and Security Committees need to hear from you!

These committees have been assigned many anti-gun proposals, to include the recurring and defeated “lost and stolen firearms,” the proven a failure “ballistic fingerprinting” program (also known as Ballistic Registration), one gun-a-month, and permit to purchase ammunition proposals.

Proposed H.B. No. 6924 Representative Leonard Greene, (R-105),”AN ACT PROHIBITING TAMPERING WITH OR ALTERING AN AIR SOFT WEAPON,” to increase public safety by prohibiting the alteration of a replica firearm that expels a projectile through the force of air pressure.

 

Proposed H.B. No. 6932 Representative Juan Candelaria (D-95), “AN ACT CONCERNING ANTI-TRAFFICKING OF FIREARMS,” to restrict gun trafficking by limiting the number of handguns a person can purchase each month.

 

Proposed H.B. No. 6935 Representative Juan Candelaria (D-95), “AN ACT CONCERNING BALLISTIC FINGERPRINTING OF FIREARMS AND THE REPORTING OF LOST OR STOLEN FIREARMS,” to require the collection of ballistic information from firearms prior to their sale and require the reporting of lost or stolen firearms.

 

Proposed H.B. No. 6702 Representative William Dyson, (D-94), “AN ACT REQUIRING THE REPORTING OF STOLEN FIREARMS,” to reduce the number of crimes involving firearms and to assist police in solving crimes by requiring the reporting of stolen firearms.

 

Proposed S.B. No. 935 - Senator Martin Looney (D-11) and Senator Toni Harp (D-10), “AN ACT REQUIRING A PERMIT TO SELL FIREARM AMMUNITION,” to regulate the sale of firearm ammunition by requiring a person to have a state permit to sell ammunition.

 

Proposed S.B. No. 936 - Senator Martin Looney (D-11) and Senator Toni Harp (D-10), “AN ACT CONCERNING THE PURCHASE OF FIREARM AMMUNITION,” to limit illegal firearms use by prohibiting "straw purchases" of ammunition.

 

Proposed S.B. No. 938 - Senator Martin Looney (D-11) and Senator Toni Harp (D-10), “AN ACT LIMITING THE PURCHASE OF HANDGUNS TO ONE PER MONTH,” to reduce the number of illegal guns used in crimes by enacting a one-handgun-per-month law.

 

Proposed S.B. No. 939 - Senator Martin Looney (D-11) and Senator Toni Harp (D-10), “AN ACT CONCERNING THE SALE OF HANDGUN AMMUNITION,” to reduce illegal handgun use by requiring a person to hold a valid permit to carry a pistol or revolver or eligibility certificate in order to purchase handgun ammunition.

Proposed H.B. No. 6899 - Representative William Dyson (D-94), “AN ACT CONCERNING THE REPORTING OF THE LOSS OR THEFT OF A FIREARM,” to assist the police in tracking lost or stolen firearms and solving crimes by requiring the owner of a firearm that has been lost or stolen to promptly report such loss or theft to a law enforcement agency.

 

Proposed H.B. No. 6900 - Representative Kenneth Green, (D-1), “AN ACT CONCERNING LOST OR STOLEN FIREARMS,” to require the reporting of the loss or theft of a firearm to a law enforcement agency, require that when a firearm is not in the actual physical possession of the owner it be stored or kept in a manner so as to reduce the risk that it will be stolen or otherwise come into the possession of another person, and provide that evidence that a pistol or revolver was found not in the possession of the owner thereof is prima facie evidence that the owner had transferred such pistol or revolver without proper application and authorization.

 

Proposed H.B. No. 6901 - Representative William Tong (D-147); Representative Kim Fawcett (D-133); Representative Tom Christiano (D-134); Representative Andres Ayala (D-128); Representative Toni Walker (D-93); Representative Marie Kirkely-Bey (D-5); and Representative Carlo Leone (D-148), “AN ACT FIGHTING VIOLENT CRIME ARISING FROM LOST OR STOLEN FIREARMS,” to fight violent crime that results from the illegal trade and distribution of firearms that have been lost by or stolen from legitimate gun owners, identify individuals furthering and profiting from such trade and distribution and give law enforcement the tools necessary to fight violent crime by requiring an owner to report the loss or theft of a firearm promptly upon discovery to local law enforcement authorities.

 

Proposed S.B. No. 892 - Senator Martin Looney (D-11), “AN ACT CONCERNING BURGLARY,” to resolve an anomaly in the burglary statutes in which burglary in the second degree with a firearm is a more serious crime than burglary in the first degree but carries a lesser penalty.

 

Proposed S.B. No. 903 - Senator Martin Looney (D-11) and Senator Toni Harp (D-10), “AN ACT CONCERNING LOST OR STOLEN FIREARMS,” to reduce the number of illegally obtained guns used in the commission of crimes.

 

Proposed S.B. No. 904 – Senator Martin Looney (D-11) and Senator Toni Harp (D-10), “AN ACT REQUIRING FIREARM DEALERS TO REPORT LOST OR STOLEN FIREARMS,” to reduce the number of illegal guns used in crimes.

To declare the State of _____________ sovereign of the United Nations
Be it enacted



Section 1. - Short title
The State of __________ Sovereignty Protection Act

Section 2 - Purpose
To maintain and preserve the State of ___________ as a Free and Independent State, as provided in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution of this State, and as preserved in the Ninth and Tenth Amendments to the Constitution of the United States;
To reject any claim that the United Nations Charter has any lawful or constitutional authority in or over this State, under either the Charter of the United Nations or the Constitution of the United States.
To recognize the power of symbols and flags, and their proper legal function when flown over official State property - which is to proclaim dominion over territory, and to demonstrate allegiance to a given authority.

Section 3 - Findings
Every elected official of this State, and all its political subdivisions, has taken an exclusive oath of allegiance to support the Constitution of the United States. No elected official has taken an oath to the United Nations, and cannot do so by law.
The United Nations Charter is not, by definition or in practice, a treaty "made under the Authority of the United States," as set forth in Article II, Section 2 of the United States Constitution, but is rather a constitution for a world government.
While the Preamble of the United Nations Charter states that it was made in the name of "the Peoples of the United Nations," in fact, the Charter was never initiated by the People of the United States, nor ratified by the People of the Several States of the United States.
Having never been constituted by the People of the United States, nor ratified by the People of the Several States, any claim of governing authority of the United Nations Charter over any State of this Union is wholly illegitimate and unconstitutional.
Under Article I, Section 10 of, and the Tenth Amendment to, the United States Constitution this State has retained the power to repel unlawful and unconstitutional invasions by foreign powers, including the United Nations, by whatever means necessary.
The display of any government flag over any government property indicates dominion and authority over said territory, and allegiance on behalf of the people of that territory to said authority.

Section 4 - Prohibitions

No United Nations Flags or Symbols

No flag or other symbol representing the United Nations shall be flown or otherwise displayed from any official mast, building, or other property of the State of ____________, including but not limited to a county, municipal corporation, township, or school property financed with state funds. PROVIDED HOWEVER, this prohibition does not apply to the display of such flags or symbols for historical and educational purposes, nor to the display of flags on private property.

No United Nations Financial Support.

No legislative body of this State, or of any of its political subdivisions, may authorize from the public treasury, payment of any funds to support any program or other activity carried on under the authority of, in cooperation with, or in relation to the United Nations.

No Enforcement of International Court Actions

No judicial decree, judgment, order, or other action entered by any international court or other judicial body acting under the authority of, in cooperation with, or in relation to the United Nations shall be enforceable in any court of law in the State; nor shall any citizen of this State, or person lawfully on or within the geographic boundaries of this State, shall be subject to any subpoena, warrant, extradition or other process issued by any such court or other judicial body.

Section 5 - Penalties

Violations of any Prohibition set forth in Section 4 shall be duly punishable as a Class A Misdemeanor. Each violation shall be deemed a separate offense. Upon conviction of four or more violations, the convicted person shall be guilt of a Class C Felony, and shall be punished accordingly.

Section 6 - Severability

If any section, subsection, paragraph or word of this act shall be found to be unconstitutional or otherwise invalid, the unconstitutionality or invalidity of that section, subsection or paragraph shall not affect any other section, subsection, paragraph, sentence or word of this statute.

Section 7 - Effective Date

This act shall become effective ________________________.
